A friend of mine gave a copy of my book, “Everyone’s a Change Agent” to an acquaintance. The guy hadn’t read a book in 20 years, but he read it. He said it changed his life.
That guy epitomizes one of the basic premises of the book: an incarnational experience changes lives. Reading the book changed his life, turned it into a different direction. Incarnation occurs when someone’s words so penetrate another person’s mind, body, soul and psyche that it changes that person’s perspective, belief and life. It changes the direction of their lives.

When people read about incarnation, they often think only of the Biblical description of God’s incarnation in Christ. Today, we can see incarnation in other persons.
The word “Incarnation” is not a part of our daily conversation. However, it may be a part of our daily lives as someone else’s words become a part of our lives, or our words become a part of their lives. In John 1:14, the writer recognizes the power of words., “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” The Word that became flesh was Jesus, the Christ.
Bottom line: Words have power to change lives. Your words. Your family’s words. We are continually bombarded with ads to bring us all kinds of comforts and well-being. They may move us to action. But they rarely change our core beliefs.
