In my speech, I shared how I resisted writing the book for a long time, and what changed my mind. I began by looking at scripture on the power of the “word.” In Genesis, God said, let there be light, and there was light, and God said it is good. The waters, the land, creation of life in the seas and the land. God said it was all good.
And in the New Testament, John 1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….(verse 14) and the Word became flesh and lived among us.” The incarnation! The underlying truth: words are powerful; our words can change lives; our words can be incarnational.
And then, the power of love. God is love. Love is God. “Faith, hope, love, but the greatest of these is love.”
The greatest commandment: “Love God with your whole being, and love your neighbor as yourself.”
When we love and experience love, we are tapping into God love, getting in touch with love/God.
The power which will save humankind.
